We start by talking to get to know more about your body issues. It is vital you get the correct advice, which is why we do a consult before we begin any of stretching sessions with new clients.

Plan

You will receive a personalized Recovery Program tailored specifically to your needs based off our assessment. We'll create a personalized plan that includes passive, active-assistive, and dynamic stretches to reach your goals. 

Assess

Our stretch coaches figure out the issues you are facing and ensure that we address any question you may have and explain how they will approach the issues. They've stretched enough people to understand and explain what you might be dealing with.

What To Expect During Our at home stretching services:

Prior to our At Home Stretching Services, we will have you fill out a short questionnaire about your body. So even before you meet our stretch coach we will know exactly what needs to be stretched. They will also talk to you throughout the session to get feedback and to make sure you know what is happening at all times.


We are a training company first so we always make sure you start with a mini 5 minute warm up for the joints and muscles which maximizes blood flow giving you a better and safer stretch. Once warmed up we then start with slow undulating movement, as well as traction (gently pulling to create space in the joint) and modified PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), synchronized with your breathing, This technique is followed throughout the whole body until you are completely stretched out and feeling great!

What is Assisted Stretching?

Type A Training has "Stretching Coaches" that provides one-on-one, customized assisted stretching sessions. The stretches are 100% customize for your needs and your "Stretching Coach" will talk you through your stretches. Our "Stretching Coaches" employ a “push & release” type of stretching (technically “proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretching”, or PNF) where you will be resisting a bit at times during the stretch and then releasing, resulting in a more effective stretch. Other stretching technique are used as well.

How Often Should I get stretched

Just like any activity, consistency is key. We recommend:

  • 2 times a month: occasionally getting a deep stretch to reduce stress, stretch deeper than you can on your own, help recovery.
  • 1 time a week to maintain flexibility and enjoy weekly recovery in addition to your daily routine.
  • 2 x/ wk : improve flexibility, make gains, improve posture.

what sort of backgrounds do your "Stretching Coaches" have?

Our "Stretching Coaches" have a variety of backgrounds and are all certified and/or licensed in various bodyworking fields. We have massage therapists, yoga instructors, personal trainers, chiropractors, and more! They all have taken and studied stretching protocols that teaches them proper and safe stretching techniques for all body sizes and flexibility levels.

what if i have an injury is it safe to stretch?

We prefer to not stretch anyone who is suffering from any sort of acute injury. You should definitely see a doctor or physical therapist and get clearance from them PRIOR to signing up. We are NOT physical therapists. If, however, you suffer from chronic pain, discomfort or tightness, getting an assisted stretch is okay—as long as your doctor or physical therapist approves.
