What Is Assisted Stretching?
Assisted Stretching is pain-free and very relaxing. It's also much more convenient than other forms of bodywork (yoga, chiropractic, reflexology, Alexander technique, Feldenkrais method, etc.), resulting in greater benefits versus traditional bodywork, which is often painful and where the body can become guarded thus not achieving a proper range of your stretch.
I think the best part of assisted stretching is that clients are always fully-clothed and remain passive as the trainer performs the assisted stretches. There is no use of massage oils or creams. Our clients always feel comfortable during each session and our stretch trainers will leave you feeling totally refreshed and renewed.
Why Assisted Stretching Can Help You?
In-home assisted stretching is used to help, Prevent Injury, Enhance Performance, and Speed Recovery times from workouts. We sometimes overuse (too much stress) our bodies, and at times we don’t use (not enough stress) our bodies enough. This back and forth of physical and emotional stresses can take their toll on your body. Over time this stress causes your fascia (the fibrous connective tissue enveloping your muscles, bones, and joints) to tighten so much that it can pinch nerves, compress blood vessels, and limit joint mobility which can trigger chronic pain and discomfort throughout the body. By Incorporating assisted stretching into your weekly routine you can help prevent many of these problems listed above.
Let's take a closer look at Assisted Stretching and see why it's so Effective.
One of the main problems in society today is actually sitting. Although harmless for short periods it can cause major issues if sitting is prolonged... and what New Yorker does not spend all day sitting behind the computer. The body is made to move and when we don't you reduce the body's mobility, it decreases posture which both are extremely counterproductive when you need to move. Hence the reason why so many people have back and shoulder pain on a regular base. Stretching can help greatly reduce all these aches and pains in your body. We're basically reversing all the damage you are doing to your body while sitting.

6 benefits of assisted stretching
What Benefits Can You Get From Assisted Stretching?
increased flexibility
More flexibility means less stress on muscles during workouts and everyday activities. Increasing your range of motion not only helps your joints feel more fluid but also stimulates the production of your body’s natural lubricants.
By improving your flexibility it will rebalance your body even making you feel taller and stand straighter.
Improved Posture
If you have a desk job or just find yourself sitting all day, assisted stretching is a great way to open up hips, lengthen hip flexors, and improve the mobility of the spine all leading up to an improvement in your posture and body alignment.

corporate professionals
If you have a desk job and find yourself sitting all day, assisted stretching is a great way to open up hips, lengthening hip flexors, and improve the mobility of the spine. Assisted stretching can also improve blood flow to the hip joints and lumbar spine. Stretching done properly helps to relax tense muscles, which result from stress. The feeling of relaxation brings a sense of wellbeing and relief from tension. Interested having this at work? We work with small businesses ranging from 3 to 25 people. Learn more
improved mobility
By improving your flexibility you will improve muscle coordination and synergy. This will create more structural stability throughout your body which will improve your performance in any sport as well as in everyday activities. This is one of the reasons why as people get older they start to lose their mobility skills (coordination and stability). If this is not taken care of they will see a decrease in their performance and an increase in injuries.
athletes / sports
Whether you’re a professional athlete or a weekend warrior, improving your flexibility and mobility will help your strength, speed, power, agility, and endurance so you can perform at your best.
When an athlete reaches their optimum functional flexibility they actually have a faster reaction time because you have awakened inherent and instinctual movements into their body again requiring less thought and greater reaction time.

injury prevention
Injuries, poor mobility, and general tightness around your body are usually caused by tight fascia: which is a cobweb-like tissue that surrounds all your muscles, bones, joints, and ligaments. Without probably stretching your fascia you could in fact form adhesions which can inhibit movement throughout your body and even scar tissue, which can lead to injury and chronic pain.

What To Expect During the Stretching Session
Prior to your stretch, we will have you fill out a questionnaire about your body. So even before you meet our stretch trainer will know exactly what needs to be stretched. They will also talk to you throughout the session to get feedback and to make sure you know what is happening at all times.
We are a training company first so we always make sure you start with a mini 5 minute warm up for the joints and muscles which maximizes blood flow giving you a better and safer stretch. Once warmed up we then start with slow undulating movement, as well as traction (gently pulling to create space in the joint) and modified PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), synchronized with your breathing, This technique is followed throughout the whole body until you are completely stretched out and feeling great!
