About

Nathaniel Oliver is the founder of Type A Training, LLC, specializing in In-Home Personal Training. Nathaniel began his career as a Personal Trainer in 1997 and quickly became a Master Trainer at New York Sports Club. This title is the company’s highest recognition of professional fitness trainers. Nathaniel was ranked in the top one percent of all trainers within the company’s network, which includes all New York Sports Clubs and their affiliates in Boston, Washington, and Philadelphia.  After holding this title for quite some time, Nathaniel decided that he needed more of a challenge. In 2002, Nathaniel started Type A Training LLC, servicing Manhattan.  As an experienced and successful New York City Certified Personal Trainer and native New Yorker, Nathaniel understands the demands of city life.  As a result, he developed his In-Home Personal Training Program as an alternative to New York City’s crowded and noisy fitness clubs.  Nathaniel has created individualized fitness programs based on well established techniques, which are tailored to the needs of each client.  Not only do Nathaniel’s clients receive an unparalleled training routine, but they can also achieve their fitness potential right in the comfort of their own home!

Nathaniel is certified by The American Council on Exercise and is also a Medical Exercise Specialist from American Academy of Health, Fitness, and Rehabilitation Professionals.  He has been featured in numerous publications including:  Time Out NY (2007), Allure “Total Makeover” (2005/2006), New York Magazine “Best of New York” (2004), and Weight Watchers.  He is excited to introduce his new 21 Day Fitness Makeover and Sunday Workouts.  Nathaniel has established a loyal following of dedicated clients by providing individualized attention.  He understands his clients’ needs for faster, more effective, and more convenient fitness training.  Nathaniel is dedicated to helping you achieve a healthy and fit lifestyle so that you will look, feel, and perform your very best in all areas of your life!

Nathaniel’s success is due in part to his passion for helping people stay healthy & fit!  Not only is he making a difference in the lives of individuals, but he’s also changing communities!  Nathaniel has completed the New York City Marathon twice in support of health/fitness related charities.  His next challenge takes place on February 8th, 2012 where he is competing in the Empire State Building Run Up on behalf of the Team for Kids charity in support of NYC youth.  Wish him luck!
